Overview
Nejat is a loving father who has built an elaborate castle of lies to protect his young daughter Kayra from the pain of her mother’s abandonment. Every day he invents new stories — Mum is on a long business trip, Mum is caring for a sick relative, Mum will be home soon — but as Kayra grows older and sharper, the fairy tale becomes impossible to sustain. Cornered by his own deception and drowning in guilt, Nejat is on the verge of collapse when Suna, a warm‑hearted but equally lost woman, literally stumbles into their lives. She sees through his lies immediately, but instead of judgment, she offers something neither Nejat nor Kayra has felt in a long time: unconditional presence. As Suna becomes woven into the fabric of their tiny family, Nejat must learn that the sweetest lie is no match for the messy, terrifying, beautiful truth — and that sometimes the person who saves you is the one who refuses to believe the story you’ve been telling yourself.
